§ 03First meeting

What to expect from a first meeting

Many people put off calling a lawyer because they don't know what will happen. Here is every step, from your first message to the start of work.

  1. 1

    Send a short note

By form, LINE or phone: a brief outline and the other party's name, if any. Don't send confidential documents yet.

  2. 2

    Conflict check

We confirm we have never acted for the other side, then reply within one business day.

  3. 3

    Meet

At the office, by video or phone, about 45–60 minutes. The lawyer listens, asks questions and explains the options.

  4. 4

    Written scope and quote

If you'd like us to act, we send the scope and fee in writing.

  5. 5

    Engagement letter

Work begins only once you sign the engagement letter.

Ways to meet

  • At the office

A private meeting room near BTS Chong Nonsi

  • Video call

Handy if you're outside Bangkok or abroad

  • Phone

For first questions that don't need documents

What to bring

Print or save this list — the more you bring, the more useful the meeting.

  • ID card or passport
  • A short timeline with key dates
  • Related papers — contracts, letters, court summons
  • Names of the other party and anyone involved
  • Your questions, most important first
  • What you would like to happen

Is there a deadline?

If you've received a court summons or a notice, or have a date to act by, put that date in your first message. Many legal time limits are short.

Your confidentiality

What you tell a lawyer is confidential. Lawyers must not disclose a client's secrets without permission or a court's authority.

Common questions

What should I prepare before contacting you?

Just a brief outline and the other party's name, if any, so we can run a conflict check. No documents yet.

Can we meet in English?

Yes. Every lawyer in the office advises in Thai and English.

When will I know the fee?

After the first meeting we send the scope and fee in writing. Work starts only when you agree.

Can you tell me whether I'll win?

No one can guarantee a result. We'll explain the strengths, weaknesses and risks on the facts available so you can decide.

Tell us what's happening

Start with a short message. We'll run a conflict check and reply within one business day.
